# What is a fractional HR leader?

A fractional HR leader is an expert HR professional who partners with an organization to provide strategic guidance, leadership, project management, and oversight on a flexible basis.  They usually have decades of experience as well as advanced degrees or certifications in the HR body of knowledge. Fractional leaders are often well-imbedded into an organizations leadership team on a part time or interim basis. This is ideal for organizations that want the expertise, but may not need to add another full time employee to the payroll.
