# Why do organizations experience turnover?

While compensation may feel like the knee-jerk answer to solving the turbulence of turnover - and it is a common one - organizations experience turnover for a variety of other reasons. The most common reasons for lack of retention include lack of effective leadership, communication, growth opportunities, or flexibility.
